CalWORKs – How to Report Income or Changes
CalWORKs participants are typically required to complete a yearly renewal process starting with a packet received by mail. Some participants are also required to complete a semi-annual reporting process. These processes may be completed by phone (1-888-472-4463), online, by mail or in person. Additionally, a CalWORKs participant whose address or household situation changes at any time during the year, or whose income exceeds the designated income reporting threshold (IRT) for the assistance unit, should report these changes within 10 days rather than waiting for the semi-annual or annual renewal process.
To speak with someone about changes to your income, address or household situation, call 888-472-4463, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday.
